Neurotoxin (BOTOX)

The gold standard in neurotoxin treatment, trusted for decades for its proven safety, precision, and versatile FDA approvals.

What is BOTOX?

BOTOX is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes targeted facial muscles to soften wrinkles and create a smoother, more rejuvenated appearance. It can also reduce pain associated with TMJ dysfunction and chronic headaches.

With a long track record of safety and effectiveness, BOTOX remains the most recognized and widely used neurotoxin in aesthetic medicine.

Treatment Areas

BOTOX can be used to address a wide range of concerns across the face and neck:

  • Upper Face: Frontalis (forehead lines), Glabella (the "11s" between the brows), Orbicularis Oculi (crow's feet)
  • Mid Face: Nasalis (bunny lines on the nose), Orbicularis Oris (lip lines)
  • Lower Face: Depressor Anguli Oris (downturned corners of the mouth and early jowling), Mentalis (pebble chin texture), Masseter (square jawline or TMJ pain)
  • Neck: Platysma, also known as the Nefertiti Lift (vertical neck bands and jowl definition)
  • Specialty Treatments: Eyebrow Lift, Lip Flip ($250 flat rate), Gummy Smile Correction ($250 flat rate), Temporalis (TMJ pain and tension headaches), Trigger Points

What to Expect

Results typically begin to appear within 3 to 5 days, with full effect visible around day 10 to 14. Most patients enjoy results lasting up to 3 months, though this can vary by individual.

A follow up visit within 10 to 14 days is recommended to assess your results, document progress with photos, and provide enhancements if needed.

Pricing

BOTOX is priced at $15 to $17 per unit depending on current market availability. Most patients use 20 to 60 units per session depending on the treatment areas selected.

Lip Flip and Gummy Smile Correction are offered at a flat rate of $250 each.

Possible Side Effects

The most common side effects include slight redness, mild discomfort, or bruising at the injection site. Some patients may experience temporary body aches or headache after treatment.

Less common but possible risks include allergic reactions, skin infections, or temporary facial asymmetry due to excessive muscle relaxation in a treated area.

Before Your Treatment

If possible, pause over the counter anti inflammatory medications and supplements for 7 to 10 days prior to treatment to reduce your risk of bleeding or bruising. Examples include Aspirin, Aleve, Naproxen, Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, and St. John's Wort.

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

After Your Treatment

Avoid touching or manipulating your face for 4 hours after treatment. Remain upright for at least 4 hours and do not lay down. Avoid massage, facials, peels, or microdermabrasion for several days. Stay out of excessive heat including direct sun exposure.

Important Timing Note

If you have a special event coming up, please schedule your treatment at least 4 weeks prior. This allows the treatment to take full effect and for any bruising or swelling to resolve completely.
